Kerala Samajam , Bangalore is organizing a unique program in career development. Titled as ‘ Guidance program for the Civil Services Examination’ it is intended to mould young aspirants in Bangalore to the levels of competence for cracking the most coveted Civil Services Examination in a planned and scientific way. The program will be offered free for the interested candidates. This will be the first of its kind in Bangalore by a social organization. The program is expected to transform the dreams of many young aspirants to become Civil Servants into a reality.
The program will focus on the right approach for preparation. The Civil Services examination requires the right combination of skills- presence of mind, analytical and logical capabilities, reasoning, clarity of thought and expression, ability to write to the point with precision ,time management, patience, selection of right books and study material and focused way of study. The examination opens way for anybody irrespective of their marks or subjects in the Degree examination. The examination schedule which spans over a year requires planned and patient approach to usher in success. IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, Railway Services(IRTS, IRPS, IRAS), IAAS, and a host of other prestigious central services are awaiting the successful candidates.
This year’s exam has already been announced by the UPSC on 19 -02-2011.The ‘Employment News’ dt.19.02.2011 carries the details. This year 880 vacancies are announced initially and the figure is likely to go up. There is a significant change in the pattern of the Preliminary examination this year onwards. The preliminary stage(the screening round) will be held on 12th June and it will consist of two papers in General Studies(objective type) and there will not be any paper on the optional subject unlike in the previous years. The Paper –I will be of two hours duration with 200 marks. The questions will be from Current affairs, Modern India, Indian Economy, Geography, Indian Polity, General Science and the latest developments in Science and Technology. The General Studies-Paper II(of 200 marks, two hours duration) will be based on comprehension, mental ability, logical analysis, reasoning and English language and this paper will be going to be crucial in the preliminary examination.
The second stage of the examination (Main , written) will be held in Oct-Nov 2011. The successful candidates of the Preliminary stage will be appearing at this stage which contains 9 papers comprising English, Indian Language, Essay, General Studies and two optional subjects. The successful candidates will be called for interview to be held in New Delhi during April-May 2012.
The Kerala Samajam is aiming at giving a golden opportunity for the aspirants to get the right approach for the examination at all the stages. The program will begin with awareness and orientation classes and proceed to giving a full-fledged guidance for the interested candidates. It will be an year long program with classes scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
